3. Working Principle of the Sand Field Mud Dewatering Machine:

Sludge is pumped into a dynamic (or static) mixer. It is mixed with a 0.05-0.1% anionic (cationic) flocculant solution and reacts fully. The tiny solid particles (or suspended matter) in the sludge (or mud) slurry aggregate into larger floccules, and the bound water and surface water between the materials are separated into free water. The material is then conveyed and spread onto the extended gravity pre-dewatering zone (or belt thickener) filter screen. Under the action of gravity, the free water seeps through the back of the filter screen and separates, forming a stagnant sludge. The sludge reaches the maximum pressure in the squeeze dewatering zone. As the mesh belt moves, it is clamped between the upper and lower mesh belts. It passes through the filter belt with adjustable tension and a rotating roller and a pressure roller of gradually decreasing diameter, applying a continuously increasing and slowly increasing pressure and shear force. Under the action of force, the water in the slag (mud) slurry is squeezed out by step-by-step pressure increase through the wedge-shaped area, low-pressure area, medium-pressure area, high-pressure area and strong roller squeeze area. Finally, the filter cake with low water content is formed and discharged. It is scraped away by the scraper plate, and the upper and lower filter belts are separated. The trace particles in the pores on the filter surface are removed by high-pressure flushing water and roller brushes, and then continue to enter the next dehydration cycle.

① Sludge Flocculation:

To improve sludge dewatering, modify filter cake properties, and increase water permeability, sludge requires physical and chemical treatment. This machine utilizes an advanced, new dual-process flocculation device to achieve optimal flocculation results. This method not only produces large, tightly bound flocculated agglomerates, but also significantly reduces reagent consumption, resulting in low operating costs and significant economic benefits.

② Gravity Concentration and Dewatering Zone:

Sludge is evenly fed into the filter screen through a distribution hopper. As the filter belt moves forward, free water, under its own weight, flows through a sufficiently long gravity free dewatering zone into the receiving trough. This gravity dewatering zone, also known as the highly concentrated zone, primarily removes most of the free and interstitial water in the sludge, reducing its fluidity and facilitating its thicker accumulation on the filter screen, thereby enhancing its ability to withstand pressure. ③ Low/Medium-Pressure Dewatering Zone:

After gravity dewatering, the sludge loses its fluidity almost completely. As the filter belt moves forward, the sludge is carried from the wedge-shaped zone onto the porous rollers. The gap between the upper and lower filter belts gradually decreases, causing the material to experience slight pressure. Filtrate begins to overflow from both sides of the filter belt. As the filter belt moves, the pressure gradually increases, which also gradually enhances the extrusion stability of the flocs.

④ Nip Roller (or Belt) High-Pressure Dewatering Zone:

After leaving the medium-pressure zone, the sludge enters the high-pressure zone. Here, it is squeezed by one to three sets of nip rollers (or belts). The strong compression significantly reduces the sludge's volume, fully squeezing out the interstitial free water within the sludge. At this point, a filter cake with a high solids content is formed.
